Digital Forensics Services in Antalya
Datotex provides digital forensics, technical examination and data recovery-focused analysis for mobile phones, computers, hard drives, SSDs, USB flash drives, SD cards and CCTV recording systems. Our aim is to preserve the integrity of the available data while identifying and presenting relevant digital findings clearly.
Who is this service suitable for?
- Individuals who need deleted or missing files to be technically examined
- Users who need the contents of a phone, computer or storage device to be analyzed
- Businesses that require examination of CCTV recorders, DVR/NVR systems or storage media
- Organizations that require technical findings and process reporting for digital data
What can be examined in a digital forensics case?
Every device and incident is different. Before any examination begins, we assess the condition of the device, the data-loss scenario, accessibility and the technical feasibility of recovery or analysis.
Digital Data Examination
File systems, deleted-data traces and existing digital content can be technically examined on computers, external hard drives, USB flash drives, SD cards and SSDs.
Mobile Device Examination
Technical analysis may be performed on photos, videos, documents, messaging applications and other device data on iPhone and Android devices. Encryption and device security can significantly affect accessibility.
DVR / NVR CCTV Examination
For CCTV recorder disks, we examine recording structures, the possibility of deleted or inaccessible footage and whether usable video can be reconstructed or exported.
Forensic Imaging & Hash Verification
Where appropriate, analysis is performed on an image of the source device rather than directly on the original media. Hash values can be recorded to support integrity verification.
Technical Findings & Reporting
Recovered or identified data, device condition, methods used and technical findings can be presented in a clear technical report.
Data Recovery-Focused Analysis
Digital forensic examination can be combined with Datotex data recovery workflows when necessary. The priority is to analyze the device without unnecessarily putting recoverable data at further risk.
Why is proper handling of digital evidence important?
Improper handling of a device after data loss can overwrite deleted information or alter existing digital traces. Preserving the device correctly from the beginning can therefore be critical to both recovery and examination.
What to do before the examination
- Stop using the device.
- Do not copy new files, install applications or format the device.
- Do not reset, update or factory-reset a mobile phone.
- Continuing to record on a DVR/NVR may overwrite older footage.
- Record the current condition of the device and the incident details as accurately as possible.
How does the digital forensics process work?
The process varies depending on the device and the incident. A typical examination generally follows these steps.
Initial Consultation
We clarify the device type, incident history, required data and the expected outcome.
Technical Assessment
The physical and logical condition of the device is assessed and the appropriate method is selected.
Imaging / Analysis
Where appropriate, a forensic image is created or controlled analysis is performed on the data source.
Reporting
Technical findings, recoverable data and the outcome of the examination are presented to the customer.
Which devices can be examined?
Results depend on the type of failure, encryption, device security and whether new data has overwritten the original information.
Desktop & Laptop Computers
User files, storage structures, deleted data and connected media can be examined on Windows, macOS and Linux systems.
Phones & Tablets
Existing data, available backups and technical accessibility can be evaluated on iPhone, iPad and Android devices.
Hard Drives, SSDs & USB Flash Drives
File-system and data-recovery analysis can be performed on internal and external hard drives, SSDs, USB flash drives and memory cards.
SD Cards & Camera Media
Media from cameras, drones, action cameras and CCTV systems can be examined.
DVR / NVR CCTV Recorders
Deleted, damaged or inaccessible recordings from CCTV systems can be analyzed.
Servers & RAID Systems
Controlled data recovery and structural analysis can be performed on RAID arrays, NAS devices and server storage.
When is a digital forensics examination requested?
- Investigation of deleted photos, videos or documents
- Technical examination of a damaged hard drive or mobile phone
- Examination of older CCTV recordings from DVR/NVR systems
- Suspected data loss or unauthorized activity on company devices
- Need for a technical process report following data recovery
Not every case is recoverable — proper assessment comes first.
Modern phones, SSDs and some storage systems use strong encryption, TRIM and other mechanisms that can make deleted data permanently inaccessible. For that reason, no responsible laboratory can guarantee recovery before assessment. Datotex first evaluates the technical condition of the device and then explains the available methods and realistic outcomes.
Recovery chances may be significantly lower when new data has been written to the device, TRIM has processed deleted SSD data, a phone has been factory-reset, or a DVR has continued recording over older footage.
Frequently asked questions about digital forensics
Are digital forensics and data recovery the same thing?
No. Data recovery focuses on retrieving lost or inaccessible data. Digital forensics focuses on the technical examination of digital data, preservation of integrity and documentation of findings. In some cases, both processes may be used together.
Can deleted data be recovered from a phone?
It depends on the device model, operating system version, encryption, when the data was deleted and whether the phone was used afterward. On modern smartphones, deleted data is not always recoverable.
Can deleted DVR or CCTV footage be recovered?
If the recorder continued writing new footage, older recordings may have been overwritten. This can significantly reduce the chance of recovery. Stopping the recorder and preserving the storage media is the safest first step.
Can I receive a report after the examination?
Upon request, the procedures performed, the technical condition of the device and the findings can be documented in a technical report. This may not constitute an official court-appointed expert report.
Can I send my device by courier?
Yes. Devices can be accepted from locations throughout Turkey. Contact us before shipping so we can advise you on suitable packaging and the assessment process for your device type.
Request an initial digital forensics assessment
If you are dealing with data loss, deleted files, missing CCTV footage or another digital examination requirement, stop using the device and contact Datotex before attempting further recovery or repair procedures.
