How We Work?

Learn how our process works, from your first contact with Datotex to the secure delivery of your recovered data.
Data Recovery Workflow

Every case starts with an assessment before any approved recovery work begins

At Datotex, the data recovery process is designed to preserve the current condition of the device. The first stage is to assess the type of failure, the data-loss scenario, recovery potential and the most appropriate method.

Hard drives, SSDs, USB flash drives, phones, memory cards, DVR/NVR/XVR recorders and RAID systems do not use the same recovery method. Each device is evaluated according to its own technical architecture.

Process Overview

From device intake to secure data delivery

The process is carried out step by step so you know what to expect at each stage.

01

Initial Contact & Case Information

We collect information about the device type, failure symptoms, how the data loss occurred, the files you need and any previous recovery attempts.

Examples: “The hard drive was dropped”, “The SSD was formatted”, “The SD card no longer shows the photos”, “The DVR footage was deleted”.
02

Device Drop-Off or Shipping

The device can be delivered in person or sent by courier. At intake, the device details, customer information, required data and relevant case notes are recorded.

For devices shipped from outside Antalya, protective packaging is recommended to prevent impact damage.
03

Technical Initial Assessment

The device is assessed for physical, electronic, logical or software-related failure. The goal is to determine recovery potential and the correct approach without causing unnecessary additional damage.

Physically damaged devices are not powered on unnecessarily.
04

Quotation & Customer Approval

After the initial assessment, the failure condition, recovery potential, estimated processing time and quotation are explained to the customer. Paid recovery work does not begin without customer approval.

This stage helps ensure there are no unexpected recovery charges.
05

Data Recovery Work

Depending on the device, the recovery process may involve controlled imaging, file-system analysis, physical intervention, controller/NAND assessment, RAID reconstruction analysis or CCTV footage examination.

Where appropriate, recovery work is performed from an image rather than directly from the original device.
06

Result Verification & Delivery

Recovered data is checked for folder structure, file integrity and accessibility. It is then transferred to a suitable delivery drive or provided using the agreed secure delivery method.

We recommend creating an additional backup after the recovered data has been delivered.
Drop-Off & Shipping

You can deliver your device in person or send it by courier

Datotex is based in Antalya, and devices from other cities can be sent by courier for initial assessment.

Include the device type and a brief description of the problem.
Protect hard drives and recorder drives against impact during shipping.
Send USB flash drives and memory cards in a small protective case.
For phones, let us know in advance if passcode, backup or account information may be required.
Always preserve drive order in RAID and NAS systems.
Stop using the device before shipping it.
Important: Formatting, repairing, running CHKDSK, reinstalling an operating system or attempting random recovery procedures on a failed device can reduce the chance of successful recovery.
Privacy

A controlled approach to personal and business data

Photos, company documents, accounting files, CCTV recordings, phone data and server backups can contain sensitive information. Recovery work is carried out with this in mind.

Data security is part of the recovery process

The goal is not only to access the data, but also to verify and deliver recovered data in a controlled and secure manner.

Device contents are examined only within the agreed scope of the recovery work.
An additional confidentiality agreement can be arranged upon request.
Recovered files are checked for accessibility before delivery.
Temporary copies are deleted after the defined retention period following delivery.
